We are excited to announce the formation of a new First Lego League (Lego Robotics Team) at Fernbank Elementary. The team will consist of up to fifteen 4th and 5th grade students. The team will prepare and train for upcoming FLL competitions. The FLL challenge has 3 parts: the Robot Game (programming), the Project (research), and the FLL Core Values (teamwork). No prior experience is required, but strong team work ethic and both student/parent time commitment is required.
Please take the time to visit the website(www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge) for videos and more information.
Fernbank FLL team tryouts will be scheduled Wednesday, August 31st from 2:30 to 3:30 in Mr. Wood’s 5th grade class #3104. Elementary Golf will present our students a 12-week program where they will be learning all about the great game of golf. Our curriculum is "kid friendly", loads of fun, and makes golf easy to learn.
Students will practice all the basic skills like putting, chipping, and driving. We'll learn all about the golf course, golf equipment, and the rules and etiquette of the game.
There will be plenty of playtime as we develop our overall athletic abilities engaging in multiple sports activities, exercises, and playing lots of challenging skill games.
Elementary Golf provides all the necessary equipment for every activity. All student golfers have to do is come and be ready to have a great time. Our program will include both team and individual play as we use golf to teach sportsmanship, help develop good character, and healthy bodies.
