CDC Tips:Keeping Kids Healthy
Happy Monday and welcome to Day 8! I hope you all had a good weekend and were able to get some rest and relaxation after a tough week of adjustment.
I have a lot of information to share with you, but before that I want to take a moment for all of us to stop and give a moment of gratitude for all of the healthcare workers, scientists, caregivers, and all people who are working tirelessly during this crisis to keep the rest of us safe. This is selfless, exhausting work and I know so many of our own parents, spouses, grandparents, and other family members have been working around the clock. To all of you, I wish I could personally come teach your kids for you all because I know you are giving everything for everyone else. To all of you, a deep, heartfelt thank you from all of the rest of us. I know we cannot even imagine how difficult it is to be in your shoes, but I pledge to do my part to stay home to protect all of you. Thank you.
Today dawned rainy and dreary and, if you are like me, it was a bit depressing. I have been working to find ways to make every day successful and productive, even if they aren’t all totally joyful—there is always joy to be found some where! So share your little stories of joy with me so I can share them with all of you. This will get easier and it won’t always feel this strange. And this is time-limited. This is the hardest part for me to remember—it will be over! It’s just a challenge for me not knowing when. But until then, we are here for each other and we can do this! You ARE doing this! You are AWESOME!!!

Request: Parent Feedback
Mr. Arnold, our Regional Superintendent for Region II, has asked for feedback from parents. Below are two requests he has. You can send your replies to me at firstname.lastname@example.org & thanks for your input!
If you have any positive emails from teachers and/or parents regarding last week’s virtual learning experience, please forward those to me as soon as you have a moment. I would like to share those with others to show the great work you and your staffs are doing.
With the above bullet in mind, if there are any suggestions from teachers/parents regarding virtual learning, especially if it seems to be a common theme, please let me know as well so that I can share that information.

And finally, our Interim Superintendent, Ms. Ramona Tyson, has shared the following information with us about keeping our kids healthy:
Thank you all for being the Fernbank Nation—we are so lucky to have such a strong and committed community.
Take care, be well, and thank you for your continued partnership in education!
