CURRICULUM NIGHT / FERNBANK 101

Missed curriculum night? You can find a link to the recording here

During National Hispanic Heritage Month  we celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.
Also, Columbus Day, which in many parts of the country is now known as Indigenous People's Day, is October 12.

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Georgia PTA cultural arts competition, providing an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Students may submit an entry in any of 6 arts areas: Visual Arts Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production.

Be sure to reflect the theme in your work.
Entries must be submitted by October 20th.
See the Georgia PTSA Reflections page for entry forms, rules, and additional information

Contact Reflections Chair Emily Mann (fernbankcommunications@gmail.com) with any questions.

The 2020-2021 Reflections Theme is: I Matter Because...
