PTA Committees
The Fernbank PTA oversees the following committees and their associated initiatives and events.
Book Fairs
The Book Fairs not only promote a love of reading, they also serve as a fundraising event for Fernbank. For every dollar spent, Fernbank receives a percentage back. The Book Fairs are held twice a year, in the late Fall and Spring. The Committee helps with publicity and recruits parent volunteers to set up and take down displays, run the cash register, and help students find books.

Communications
The Communications Co-Chairs sit on the PTA Executive Board. They are responsible for assembling the weekly school newsletter, The FLASH, and updating the school-specific website as needed.

Fernwear
The Fernwear Committee designs, purchases, and sells the annual Fernbank t-shirts (and other apparel) at various school events throughout the year like Open House, Fall Picnic, Film at the Fern, etc.

Fifth Grade
The Fifth Grade Committee works with teachers, parents, and the principal to plan and organize activities and fundraisers leading up to the Fifth Grade Celebration at the end of the school year.

Fun Run
The Fun Run Committee organizes the annual footrace for Fernbank students, which is held in the Fall ahead of the Grounds Clean-Up Day. The Fun Run is a great way for students to get outside and be active with their friends. The Committee organizes concessions, awards, and event t-shirts for the Fun Run.

Hospitality
The Hospitality Committee showers our wonderful teachers and staff with special attention throughout the year. Hospitality events include: Teacher/Staff Taco Lunch, October Treat Cart, December Cookie Drop, Salad Lunch, Chili Lunch, pre-planning and post-planning breakfasts and lunches, and more!

Room Parent Coordinators
Each homeroom class at Fernbank has 1-3 Room Parent volunteers, who liaise with their teachers about classroom supply wish lists/Mystery Readers, organize class holiday parties, recruit parent volunteers to help with Field Day activities, etc. The Room Parent Coordinators organize the broader committee of Room Parents across Fernbank. Room Parent Coordinators send out timely e-mails/communications to remind Room Parents about upcoming events/responsibilities.

School Supplies
The School Supplies Committee organizes the school supply pack sale every Spring. Once school supply packs are delivered to the school in late July, the Committee organizes the packs by grade and prepares them for pick-up at Open House or distribution to student homeroom classes.

Yearbook
The Yearbook Committee works with Jostens® publishers to create the annual Fernbank yearbook, a special keepsake for our students. In addition to gathering photos from school events throughout the year, the Yearbook Committee lays out the contents of the yearbook.
